How we treat it — our 3-step protocol
Assess
We start with a physical exam, not assumptions. Ankle dorsiflexion, calf length, single-leg balance, hip abductor and rotator control, and how the arch and big toe accept load through each step show us where the chain is failing — not just where it hurts.
Treat the structure
We needle and, where useful, add cupping or manual therapy to the gastrocnemius, soleus, tibialis posterior, and peroneals, along with the plantar fascia itself — lowering tension, restoring ankle motion, and taking load off the heel where the fascia attaches.
Close the loop
When the hip and thigh don’t control the leg well, the calf compensates and the arch never forms properly, so the fascia absorbs every step. We work down the chain — hip and thigh first, then calf, then the foot — and retrain the intrinsic foot muscles so the arch carries its own load again.
